"Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."

Fasting Fiesta 2

Still with fasting issues.

We had a complete American Breakfast at 2am in the morning! Two fried eggs, chicken sausages, baked bean, whole meal bread and fried potatoes cubes (i am a lazy house wife! indeed).

Steve had two portion of these American breakfast and we took spirulina to give an energy. 10 pcs of little spirulina down to dear tummy.

If i cannot continue my fasting "i say to myself" i will take my glucophage (diabetics medication) and cardiprin (aspirin) with a glass of water and pretend that i have done nothing wrong and continue my fast (i am such an idiot!)

BTW, Steve's have no problem with fasting, he used to all these during his Jewish life hood. Jews have this called Seven day Fast days of the Jewish Year or known as Jewish tzomot. But again, according to Steve's mother, i never heard people in America practice that.

Again, all these proved that every religion belief on existent of One mighty God and whatever religion you are, you must have faith in it and make tolerant to everybody and respect whatsoever their belief.

Just my two cents worth of brain.

Fasting Fiesta

One thing i hates so much is fasting (no eating and drinks and sex)during summer time. Usually it will take longer hour than other seasons. The reason is slightly longer day light and shorter night time.

We have to take breakfast as early as 3++ am and later break fasting as late as 8++ pm. That will total up to 18++,extra hours. Both of us will move so very low momentum. Cook by 4pm and we will take our bed and set the alarm by 8pm.

The air-cond will never stop running at 20c. Its hot, dry and you easily get dehydrated outside or inside your house.

Unlike fasting during winter time, very syok(nice) one!! breakfast at 6am and later break fasting at 4pm. You barely feel like fasting, cozzz its winter.

My fond winter experience is break fasting in a lecture hall, during university time in Cambridge. The professor ask me " ain't you suppose to break fast, sufian?, is it the time?" i reply "Yes Prof, if you can gives us all 10" he said "i don't mind"

That is my favorite math professor, Dr M.E Mcintyre, he is forever with Cambridge and fluid analysis. As for me, I always stick to Cryptography.

I've meet him last year 2008, in this Symposium held in Cambridge. He came to me and congratulate me for my research presentation and we had a good chat.

Fasting made ur body revitalised

The first time I fasted for Ramadan was three years ago.- about six months before I actually converted to Islam. I was studying for my MBA finals at University at the time, and I did tell suf,my partner but not to my friends in case they thought I was going crazy! It was a private and special experience which brought me much strength, peace and clarity.

My main struggle during Ramadan was the coffee conundrum I faced each morning. If I drank a cup of coffee at Suhoor I would not be able to sleep afterward - but if I skipped it I would suffer caffeine withdrawal symptoms until Iftar! It was an example of how fasting makes you confront your weaknesses, and resolve to change. It also makes you appreciate how lucky we are to have plenty of food to break our fasts.

Fasting is the single greatest natural healing therapy. It is nature's ancient, universal "remedy" for many problems. Animals instinctively fast when ill. When I first discovered fasting, 3 years ago, I felt as if it had saved my life and transformed my illnesses into health. My stagnant energies began flowing, and I became more creative and vitally alive. I still find fasting both a useful personal tool and an important therapy for many medical and life problems.

Of course, most of the problems for which I recommend fasting as treatment are ones that result from over nutrition rather than malnutrition. Dietary abuse problems, more common in the Western world than in Third World countries, generate many of the chronic degenerative diseases that I have written so much about; these include atherosclerosis, hypertension and heart disease, allergies, diabetes, and cancer. I believe that fasting is therapeutic and, more importantly, preventive for many of these conditions and more.

Actor of the month

I would like to start something that is overdue for so long. The Actor of the Month

Sean Biggerstaff played a very hunky Oliver Wood in the first two "Harry Potter" movies. Discovered by Alan Rickman, the two films were his first significant roles (so to speak).

(Jeremy's father) was a noted physician in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Jeremy Wolfenden was considered "the smartest boy in England," attending Eton and then winning eight alphas at Oxford. (surely oxford have many gays compare to cambridge)

When he was 18, he told his father he was a homosexual. His father told him to get out of his sight, and not return. Five years later, Sir John Wolfenden issued "The Wolfenden Report," which urged the decriminalization of homosexuality in the United Kingdom. Jeremy Wolfenden became a reporter for the Daily Telegraph.

He was recruited by MI6 as a spy, and sent to Moscow as a journalist. There, he slept with any number of Russian men (usually servants, blue-collar workers, and secretaries) in order to learn the secrets of their employers. A KGB agent later took compromising photographs of Wolfenden in bed with another Russian.

The KGB tried to turn Wolfenden into a double-agent, and Wolfenden told MI6. Wolfenden became a double-double-agent -- passing on old or fake information to the KGB while reporting on KGB activities to MI6. Wolfenden sank into alcoholism, unable to handle the pressure. He married a woman, and sought a post in Washington, D.C., to escape the spy biz. MI6 recruited him again in D.C., and he died of liver failure at the age of 31 on December 28, 1965.

Man Boob

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (Reuters) - Armed bandits in Brazil robbed a vehicle carrying more than 400 breast implants, officials said on Tuesday.

"It happened last week, but we only learned about it recently as our clients started complaining. It is the hottest period of the year in terms of implant sales," said Margaret Figueiredo, director of silicone implant manufacturer Silimed.

A spokesman for the state Postal Service confirmed that assailants, apparently men, robbed the postal van with implants on Thursday night in Rio de Janeiro. Each Silimed breast implant costs nearly $400.

The popularity of Brazil's plastic surgery pioneer and trendsetter Ivo Pitanguy, whose clients include celebrities like Sophia Loren, has made the tropical country one of the leading international nip and tuck venues.

Figueiredo explained demand is the highest in July, during the southern hemisphere winter, as women schedule surgery during the winter school holidays, which precede the beach season.

Figueiredo said the implants, each bearing an individual number, could now only be sold for clandestine surgeries. Horrific stories abound in Brazil about the illegal operations that can cause gangrene and death.

tough, this is not the first time i publish in my blog! i find this very intriguing......
now we are talking about gender equality.........

Will YOU Look as Good as...

You might have seen these before and after celebrity comparisons around the internet. I thought it was an interesting testimony as to what happens if you don't take care of yourself, even if you are incredibly fit and good looking.

What the original story failed to mention is that it is possible to preserve most of your looks if you follow Jack LaLanne's approach to fitness, which you can see below.

Your Car and Home Could Soon Be Powered By Urine

MSNBC July 8, 2009 Urine-powered cars, homes and personal electronic devices could be available in six months.

Using a nickel-based electrode, scientists can create large amounts of cheap hydrogen from urine that could be burned or used in fuel cells. One cow can provide enough energy to supply hot water for 19 houses.

One molecule of urea, a major component of urine, contains four atoms of hydrogen bonded to two atoms of nitrogen. If you place a special nickel electrode into a pool of urine and apply an electrical current, hydrogen gas is released.

A urine-powered vehicle could theoretically travel 90 miles per gallon.

Using urine as a source of fuel may sound like a bit of a stretch, but it’s actually quite ingenious. It’s based on the use of hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe.

Hydrogen has been called “a renewable, versatile, simple sustainable domestic energy” because it can be produced from tap water to generate power for homes and cars.

So people, you may start building a reservoir for your urine and frost them! euww. remember you might save money in future.

dot of life

Think of a day as a dot

A life is ~70 years or 160^2 number of days

Each block of dots above is 10 X 50 = 500 days

There are 15 tall blocks, or 15 X 500=7500 days or 20 1/2 years

This is what just over 20 years looks like as dots
